From review by Ian Freshney in BioEssays, 16,217, 1994: Af first glance this seems like a very attractive publication, covering many of the right tpoics for the novice and available at a very reasonable price. However, when one reads in more detail there is often a disappointing lack of detail. Although the authors have clearly tried to cover many of the most important areas, while keeping the cost within the readch of students and trainees, the result is often rather superficial, and would only satisfy culture requirements at a fairly elementary level.
