LC Labs/N-3883 Nelfinavir, Methanesulfonate Salt, >99%/N-3883/2 g
  • Nelfinavir, also known as AG1343, is a human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) type 1 protease inhibitor (Ki = 2 nM). It had anti-HIV activities in vitro with EC50 values of 30-60 nM. Zhang K.E., et al. \"Circulating metabolites of the human immunodeficiency virus protease inhibitor nelfinavir in humans: structural identification, levels in plasma, and antiviral activities.\" Antimicrob. Agents Chemother. 45: 1086-1093 (2001).
  • \"AG1343\" is the correct synonym for nelfinavir. We note that, as of September 3, 2016, Adipogen, Biomol GmbH, Chemscene, Medchem Express, Nacalai, USA, Namiki, R&D Systems, Tocris, Toronto Research Chemicals and possibly other vendors are incorrectly using \"AG1341\" as a synonym for nelfinavir. In addition, Abmole is using the incorrect AG1341 in the header code of its web page but the correct AG1343 in the body of the page itself.
  • Nelfinavir has been widely used with other anti-HIV drugs for the treatment of HIV infection. It has shown prolonged viral suppression, good tolerability and a unique resistance profile. Olmo M. and Podzamczer D. \"A review of nelfinavir for the treatment of HIV infection.\" Expert Opin. Drug Metab. Toxicol. 2: 285-300 (2006).
  • Nelfinavir also has efficacy against cancer, malaria, tuberculosis, and SARS. Brüning A., et al. \"New prospects for nelfinavir in non-HIV-related diseases.\" Curr. Mol. Pharmacol. 3: 91-97 (2010).
  • Nelfinavir has direct antitumor effects. It reduces angiogenesis and cell invasion, inhibits the Akt pathway, induces autophagy, and promotes apoptosis of cancer cells. Gantt S., et al. \"Insights into the broad cellular effects of nelfinavir and the HIV protease inhibitors supporting their role in cancer treatment and prevention.\" Curr. Opin. Oncol. 25: 495-502 (2013).
