AMPK alpha-2 Polyclonal Antibody

ORDERING INFORMATIONCatalog No.: 13010Size: 100ug IgG in 0.1 ml Tris citrate/ phosphate, pH 7-8.BACKGROUND

AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is a heterotrimeric protein made up of a catalytic alpha subunit, and a regulatory beta and gamma subunit. There are two distinct genes for the alpha subunit, alpha1 and alpha2. AMPK alpha 2 is the serine/threonine kinase catalytic subunit of the AMPK. AMPK is responsible for regulating fatty acid and cholesterol synthesis.

SPECIFICATION SUMMARYAntigen: Synthetic peptide representing a portion of the protein encoded within exon 7.Accession no.: AAH69823.1Gene ID: 5563Host Species: RabbitPreservatives: 0.09% sodium azide

SPECIFICITY

This affinity-purified antibody reacts with human, mouse, rat and bovine AMPK alpha-2. The epitope recognized is in the region between aa 350 and 400 of AMPK alpha-2. Based on 100% sequence identity, this antibody is predicted to react with Mouse, Rabbit, Guinea pig, Pig, Orangutan, Rhesus Monkey, Gorilla, Chimpanzee, White- tufted-ear marmoset, Crab-eating macaque, African elephant, Chinese hamster, Naked mole rat and Northern white-cheeked gibbon.

APPLICATIONS

Immunoblotting: use at 0.2-2ug/ml

Detection of human and mouse AMPK alpha 2 in whole cell lysates (50 µg) of HeLa, 293T, Jurkat, mouse Renca, and mouse TCMK-1 cells with #13010 at 0.4ug/ml.

DILUTION INSTRUCTIONS

Dilute in PBS or medium that is identical to that used in the assay system.
