Formulation: Sterile-filtered colorless solution in 10mM Tris, pH 8.0, 0.1% Triton X-100, and 0.002% sodium azide. Purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

BACKGROUND

The annexins are a family of calcium- dependent phospholipids-binding proteins. Members of this family contain 4 internal repeat domains, each of which includes a type II calcium-binding site.

These calcium-binding sites are required for annexins to aggregate and cooperatively bind anionic phospholipids and extracellular matrix proteins. The most striking feature of Annexin A9 is a complete ablation of all four homologous type II calcium-binding sites in the conserved tetrad core. Although all four sites in Annexin A9 contain amino acid substitutions that ablated their function, the conserved ion channel formed by the tetrad core is intact.

DESCRIPTION

Recombinant Human Annexin A9 produced in E. coli is a single, non- glycosylated polypeptide chain containing amino acids 1-339 with a molecular weight of 38.9kDa. It includes a T7 tag at the N-terminus.

SPECIFICATION SUMMARY

Source: Escherichia coli Purity: Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Accession number: O76027
