N-Sulfosuccinimidyl-6-(4-azido-2-nitrophenylamino) hexanoate (Sulfo-SANPAH) is a water soluble, heterobifunctional crosslinker with a spacer arm length of 18.2 angstroms. It contains an NHS ester that reacts with primary amines and a nitrophenylazide group that is photoreactive at 320-350 nm toward amino groups. Sulfo-SANPAH crosslinker is immediately water soluble, whereas SANPAH crosslinker is not readily water soluble.
