Founded in 1863, Rhode Island Hospital is the state’s largest, and its only Level Itrauma center and accredited burn center. The principal teaching hospital of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Rhode Island Hospital provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services, as well as expertise in cancer, cardiology, diabetes, emergency medicine, neurosciences, orthopedics and more. As a division of Rhode Island Hospital, Hasbro Children’s Hospital is the region’s premiere provider of pediatric clinical care. The hospital offers a broad spectrum of both routine care and specialty programs not available elsewhere. Hasbro Children’s has the only pediatric emergency department, Level 1 trauma center, pediatric critical care teams and 24-hour ambulance in the region. Our approach to pediatric medicine makes parents, who know their children best, an essential part of the care team.

Founded by the Providence Jewish community in 1926, The Miriam Hospital today offers a wide range of medical services, with notable expertise in cardiac care, total joint replacement, bariatric surgery, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, and men’s health. A major teaching affiliate of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, the hospital receives international recognition for its HIV/AIDS, behavioral health and preventive medicine research.

Founded in 1931, Bradley Hospital was the nation’s first psychiatric hospital exclusively for children. Today it provides expert, family-focused care to children and adolescents with psychological, developmental, and behavioral problems, through a wide range of inpatient, outpatient, residential, and partial hospital programs. A teaching hospital for The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Bradley Hospital is a national center for research in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Newport Hospital, founded in 1873, offers a wide array of services to the community. In addition to an emergency department that treats patients from Newport and surrounding towns, the hospital provides diagnostic and surgical services and is home to the renowned Vanderbilt Rehabilitation Center and the award-winning Noreen Stonor Drexel Birthing Center. Newport Hospital has been designated a Magnet hospital for excellence in nursing three consecutive times.
