Description

Helodormin is a E7Q, E8Q analog of helodermin. Helodermin is a peptide originally found in Heloderma lizards. Helodermin exhibits vasodilatory and antihypertensive activities, decreasing blood pressure in vivo; this arterial relaxation is accompanied by a decrease in intracellular Ca2+ and an increase in cAMP. Helodermin may also exhibit anticancer benefit, inhibiting cell proliferation of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) cells in vitro.
