The feline leukemia virus (FeLV) is the causative agent of the most important fatal infectious disease complex of domestic cats today. It is an RNA virus belonging to the family Retroviridae. FeLV can be transmitted between infected cats when the transfer of saliva or nasal secretions is involved. If not defeated by the animal’s immune system, the virus can be lethal.ApplicationsSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin), Immunoprecipitation, and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.Recommended DilutionOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.ImmunogenFeline Leukemia Virus gp70FormSupplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. Labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP).PurityPurified by Protein A affinity chromatography.SpecificityRecognizes the gp85/gp70 envelope glycoprotein of feline leukemia virus. Specifically recognizes the epitope defined by amino acids 214-218 of the gp70 sequence (aa MGPNL).
