PAI-1 (plasminogen activator inhibitor-1), otherwise known as SERPINE1 is a 45kD serine protease inhibitor and member of the serpin family, which acts as the primary inhibitor of tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA), and hence fibrinolysis.||Increased levels of PAI-1 are associated with diabetes, cardiovascular disease and an increased occurrence of thrombosis in obesity, and can be induced by obesity related factors including insulin, glucose and VLDL (very-low-density lipoprotein).||Applications:|Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.||Recommended Dilution:|ELISA: 0.5-2ug/ml|Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Storage and Stability:|Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O or PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
