Herpes simplex virus 1 and 2 (HSV-1 and HSV-2), also known as Human herpes virus 1 and 2 (HHV-1 and -2), are two members of the herpes virus family, Herpesviridae, that infect humans. Both HSV-1 (which produces cold sores) and HSV-2 (which produces genital herpes) are ubiquitous and contagious. They can be spread when an infected person is producing and shedding the virus. ||Applications: |Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.||Recommended Dilution:|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Storage and Stability:|May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
