Vaspin (Visceral adipose tissue-derived serpin; Serpin A12), a serine protease inhibitor (serpin), is an insulin-sensitizing adipocytokine that has been isolated from both visceral and subcutaneous white adipose tissue. Based on recent findings, vaspin is suggested to regulate immune responses and inflammation and was found to be correlated with various metabolic parameters. Vaspin may represent a novel biomarker for obesity and impaired insulin sensitivity and might serve as a new therapeutic target of metabolic syndrome.||Source:|HEK 293 cells ||Sequence:|Human vaspin (aa21-414) is fused at the N-terminus to a FLAG-tag.||Molecular Weight: |~55kD (SDS-PAGE) ||Endotoxin:|<0.01EU/ug (LAL)||Storage and Stability: |Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
