Activins are dimers consisting of two beta subunits. Several types of beta subunits have been described. The same beta subunits also occur in Inhibins as part of a heterodimer with an alpha subunit. The beta subunits are translated as a precursor form that includes an N-terminal pro region which is proteolytically cleaved to yield the mature C-terminal beta subunit. Applications: |Suitable for use in Neutralization and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.Recommended Dilution: |Western Blot: 1:500-1000|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with 200ml sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
