Bpsbioscience/Histone H4 peptide (1-21), Dimethyl R3, Biotin-labeled/51200/500 µl
MW: 2630.14 Da Genbank #: NM_003548 Tag(s): Biotin a.a: 1–21 Background:Three types of arginine methylation exist in mammalian cells: monomethylarginine (MMA), asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) and symmetric dimethylarginine (SDMA). Type I PRMTs ((CARM1, PRMT1, PRMT2, PRMT3, PRMT6, and PRMT8) catalyze ADMA, while type II PRMTs (e.g. PRMTs 5 and 7) catalyze SDMA. PRMT1 is the primary methyltransferase that deposits the ADMA mark, and it accounts for over 90% of this type of methylation. The Arg3 residue of Histone H4 is a target for PRMT1 methylation. Methylation of histone H4 at Arg3 is an important step in transcriptional activation, and allows for subsequent acetylation of H4 tails by p300. Description:Biotinylated histone H4 peptide (a.a. 1-21) asymmetrically di-methylated at Arginine 3. It also contains a C-terminal GG linker, followed by a biotinylated Lys. UniProt P62805 Synonym(s): H4R3me2a, Histone H4 Arg3me2 asymmetric Purity: ≥95% by HPLC Supplied As: 200 µM solution in water (500 µl) Format: Aqueous buffer solution Storage / Stability:

≥6 months at -20°C or -70°C

Application(s): Useful as a positive control for type I protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs) and or as a substrate for JMJD6 arginine demethylase in drug discovery and HTS applications.
