An antibody specific for Presepsin has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any Presepsin present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, HRP-Conjugate Human Presepsin detection antibody is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound HRP reagent, a Chromogen solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Presepsin bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.Systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) is a systemic inflammatory response to a variety of insults. Presepsin; the soluble CD14 subtype is a novel soluble CD14 molecule that is useful for diagnosing sepsis. It plays an important role in modulating the immune response to endotoxin in vitro and vivo.
